The High Cost of “Free” Home Schooling

I know that every parent can decide what is best for their child. My job is to support independent homeschooling, though. When I ask about alternative education programs to get the parents I do not feel that I am a judge. On the other hand, I try to emphasize that the solutions to maintain independence, so that the successful education of your child’s protection.

Online training and alternatives can be attractive because they are often free. The big problem is that this material is financially free – there are other costs. Online lessons with accredited programs are often inflexible and rigid, with strict rules that certain things. This may limit your ability to teach your child how they learn best. MIT is just one example, with the free online course “Free Knowledge”, high quality scientific conferences in the library. Although not a laboratory science, the learning is great!

A simple Google search of “online virtual labs” will provide enough material for every branch of science, with laboratories with many different books. Some developed online virtual labs for schools, and others concerning textbooks in particular. There are some great free reusable materials that everyone can enjoy!

I recently had several clients contact me for alternative education and accredited training. Some of them had their children on-line courses from disease, and now face a devastating cumulative average, unofficial. A mother has paid for an expensive program, and his daughter earned a GPA of 1.75 in his first year in high school. Ouch! The call is easy to see, but the costs can be hidden until one year later. My advice is to be careful and look for alternatives, support your independence as a homeschooler
